Indonesia have 5th rank in
the world which have the greatest number of beggars. Approximately, indonesia
have 15 thousand beggars who increased each day. As a fact, we can see a lot of
beggars who begging to earn their live in public street, especially in the
traffic light, around the city and the most are see in the religious place.
First, why we should not give our money to beggars is, most of beggars we see are not even in need. Most of them are just too lazy to work. If we give our money to them, they will think that is better to begging than to work.
The second argument is most of beggars just showing a fake about their condition. They attract the people sympathy by showing their fake weakness. For example, Walang, beggars from subang west java, who can get 25 millions only
within fifteen days. He attract people sympathy with acting to be a poor old man, who pretend to have a disabilities leg.
And the last argument is, there is a law regulation that prohibit us to give alms or money to beggars. Like in jakarta, the government prohibit us to give money to beggar. And all of it are set in perda DKI jakarta number 8/2007 about public order. And i think, this is really good regulation that jakarta government make, because this regulation can teach the beggars that, if they need a money, they must work hard like all of people that give them a money, not with begging like this.
So, from my 3 argument, I can take the conclusion that we should not give alms/ money to beggars, because indirectly, when we give our money to beggars we have teach them to be a lazy people. We should give them a chances to raise their power and be a successful man or woman. It’s better to give our money to people who more need it, like in orphanage, the victim of natural disaster and other.
