MATERI BHS. INGGRIS "PASSIVE VOICE"

Passive Voice / kalimat pasif adalah kalimat yang subjectnya dikenai aktivatas / kegiatan. Passive voice biasanya ditandai dengan object yang berada di depan kalimat dan penggunaan conjungsi "By".

Pattern : S + To be + V3

Notes : To be ada 2, yaitu To be kalimat present (sekarang) dan kalimat past (lampau).

1. To be Present : Is, am, are
2. To be Past : Was, were 

Example : 

1. Active present : A snake bites steve

   Passive present : Steve is bitten by snake

2. Active past : He bought a car

    Passive past : A car was bought by him

Terdapat pattern lain dari passive voice, yaitu :

- Continous tense : S + To be + being + V3

- Perfect tense : S + To be + been + V3

- Modal : S + To be + be + V3 

Example :

1. Continous
Active voice : The childern are playing football

Passive voice : Football is being played by them

2. Perfect
Active voice : He was written several letters to his girlfriend
Passive voice : Several letters have been written by him

3. Modal
Active voice : I will buy a new house
Passive voice : A new house will be bought by me

Notes : Terdapat 2 bentuk modal
